I spent many years trying to find John to tell him what he meant to me. I had zero luck. He is very likely gone now. So I allow myself the belief that he remembered me and knew that he was important in my life. As for the second part? I have no idea. It's a fond fantasy to be that important to someone. I will leave it to the universe to somehow let me know someday.
This was such a beautiful story. Its very similar to my young experience with my parents and my "first love" Lyndsey who also played the guitar and looked like Jesus/Hippie (it was the 70's). Like John, Lyndsey gave me my first spiritual training, and a love for music. The song Lyndsey played for me (and I later learned to play was "Killing Me Softly". Thanks so much for this memory. it made me cry tears of joy!
This really got me thinking about my past and how certain people were so influential in my life.
I wonder what John would think to know how much of an influence he's had on your life. Do you think you've been a "John" to anyone younger?
